Now that I have got the impetus to start blogging again.I guess the literary kheeda has struck me hard and I know people reading this will have to endure more torture then they bargained for.
I know that "She Laughs She Falls" is the crudest and (according to some people the most Zeher) translation of "Hansee Toh Phasee" but I dont know how many of you saw it but I loved the movie.
Vinil Mathew has definitely bought a certain amount of freshness which just blows you away.Of course the amazing chemistry between Siddharth Malhotra(the most confused and mundane character) and Parineeti Chopra(who looks like she is just out of a psyche ward) right from the word go(Socho Tum Idea aur mein technology toh hamari patang kya masth udti hai).There are 2 reasons why one should watch this movie,one of course is the chemistry between the lead pair and secondly the mundane mockery it makes of the entire Indian big fat wedding scenario.
Though you have to leave your brain at home,a polymer ball that keeps bouncing which will provide sustainable electricity is a ball of crap but yet it does make for an enjoyable watch because of its sheer authenticity and some honest performances.
I am sure Karan Johar bought the backdrop of a big fat indian wedding and Anurag kashyap who co produced the movie decided to make a kachra out of it but all said and done it does work.
Indian cinema is slowly progressing towards a blend of mainstream and parallel cinema.cinema. Atleast it is a breather from the usual gibberish that one gets to see everyday.It is safe to say that the genre of black comedy is finding its own niche with movies like Cheeni Kum,Sahib,biwi aur Gangster and now Hansee toh Phasee.
The trend of admen making films brings a whole new dimension to the playing field.Admen have to express so much in so little a time and have to come out with such creativity and humour,perhaps the reason why R Balki and hopefully Vinil Mathew come out with such crisp humour in their movies.
Hopefully the genre of black comedy develops over a period of time and we as audiences get to see more of Hansee toh Phasees.Cheers.
